Yamaha R15 V3.0 Highlights

Yamaha R15 Version 3.0 Review:-

Yamaha has just introduced the smallest model in MT series, the new Yamaha MT-15 at a price 1.36 lakh. At just Rs.3,000 more, you get the popular full faired, entry level sport bike, the Yamaha YZF R15 version 3.0,  which get dual channel ABS, unlike MT-15 get only single channel ABS. At the launch of MT-15, we also got to spend some time the riding R15 V3.0 with ABS. Yamaha YZF R15 has been consistent sales performer of India Yamaha, and with dual channel ABS now, it's still a very good option, if you are beginner's sportbike. But how good is enough? That what we tried to figure as we spent some time riding R15 V3.0 ABS on a racetrack.
The new generation R15 significantly update last year, with some cosmetic change, and more importantly with a bigger and more power engine, update chassis, new swingram  and different steering geometry. With styling inspired by the bigger, litre class Yamaha YZF R1, the new R15 V3.0 does looked sharper than before, with LED lighting and an easy to read, full digital, multi functional instrument panel. But what is now gets is dual channel ABS, which certainly improves the R15 stopping power.

The 155 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine.

On the move, to engine engine has enough performance of hit over 135 kmph on the backstraight of the Bic. The 155 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine also get variable valve actuation, which in plainspeaks provides a wider torque spread over the rev range. Granted the power and torque figure aren't anything to go ga-ga over, but 19 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm at 8,500 rpm  makes the engine feel lively and love to revved, right up to limit. The gearbox is precise and slick, the slipper clutch provide a light feel in lever, which will definitely be welcome in stop go condition while riding in city. But what is superb handling that the R15 still provides, around corner and very good straight line stability. Thanks to introduced ABS, hard braking is without drama, and R15
Shed Triple digit speeds quite easily, and quickly.

                                                  Smooth and refined performance.

The are more than one reason why the Yamaha YZF-R15 is popular. Big sportbike looks, a smooth  and traceable engine with a decent top end to go chasing the horizon and lovely road manner, are what still makes the R15 attractive, and compelling begginer sportbike this side of  Rs.1.39 lakh. It not very powerful to intimidating, but has the performance which will be welcomed by riders upgrading from smaller bikes,or even first bike.

                                                                 Attractive look of R15.

For newbie sport riders, the R15 is still  is package which is difficult to resist and it can do the daily commute with ease, take on the occasional long distance ride covering hundred of kilometres in a day, and make a track riding easy and accessible with its performance. Price Rs.1.39 lakh for the ABS variant, it easy to see R15 V3.0 will popular as ever and may not not have real competition, even from its newer, and sharper looking naked sibling, MT-15.
